Social Media, Mobile Apps, Data Analytics and Cloud computing are four distinct technology areas that are seen rapidly evolving.
Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn allows people to connect and interact without any delay and interference. Mobile, more specifically the smart phone, has changed the way people communicate; access the data whenever and wherever it may be needed. Analytics involves collecting and manipulating data available in social media databases to make intelligent predictions about user behaviours by looking at the millions of records. Cloud computing is used to deliver computing infrastructure, services, platforms, and applications which enable users to easily access those data.

The convergence of Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud, collectively referred as SMAC, will lead IT Services for the next generation of technological trends. While every component of SMAC could benefit services significantly across various applications, more
benefits can be obtained if all the SMAC components are integrated and used as one powerful technology. Despite the rapid growth of SMAC, many issues related to the underlying
networks, cloud services, security, quality of service, availability of services, and user data management are still challenging and need to be addressed.
